la vieille chaise
The Old Chair
This "old chair" didn't quite look as pretty when I first spied it, and it's twin.
They were dirty, and had cobwebs, and just weren't very appealing.
Until...
I scrubbed with soapy water, and Windex. (I read on a blog that Windex is a good cleaner for heavy dirt), and gave one of the chairs a light sanding.
Then I painted with MyColor Pantone Whitecap Gray Paint.
I used wax in the spots where I wanted to distress, and then painted with another coat of the Whitecap Gray.
Then, I hand painted "la vieille chaise", the old chiar, on the top rung.
(I do not have a very steady hand)
I actually like the way that the wording is a little shaky, and not perfect!
Lastly, I used Steel wool to distress, and a sanding block, then used a faux glazing paint mixed with some light brown craft paint.
Even though, it's "la vielle chaise," I think the transformation is great!
